The Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation and the Newnan Carnegie Library are proud to announce the return of the Edgar B. Hollis Distinguished Author Series.
“Through the philanthropy of the Hollis Trust, the Newnan Carnegie Library and its Foundation have been able to bring outstanding nationally known authors and speakers to Newnan since 2012,” says Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation Board Member, Lauren Jones. “Winter 2024 marks perhaps our most ambitious lineup and one we think our benefactor Edgar B. Hollis, a career-long Librarian himself at NSA’s Library in Washington DC and Newnan native, would be very proud of. I think our patrons will really enjoy this season with its diversity and myriad of interests and we look forward to welcoming all to our downtown gem!”
The Winter 2024 series will kick off on Saturday, January 20th with former NFL player, Frank D. Murphy appearing at the Carnegie from 3:00-4:30 pm to discuss his life story and his book, The Man Behind the Helmet: A Story of Second Chances. A book signing will follow his author talk.
