Keep Haralson Beautiful took proactive steps in combating litter by hosting a comprehensive litter law enforcement workshop on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The event, held at Greater Haralson Chamber – Wayne Davis Community Room in Waco, GA, aimed to equip law enforcement officers and environmental advocates with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively enforce litter laws and address environmental concerns within the community.
The workshop featured two informative sessions: “Environmental Law Enforcement, Tactics, & Solutions” and “Litter Enforcement Concepts, Tactics, & Training.” Attendees had the opportunity to delve into various aspects of environmental law enforcement, including legal frameworks, investigative techniques, and practical solutions for combatting littering.
A highlight of the workshop was the keynote address delivered by Cpl. Scott Carroll from 423 Law Enforcement. Cpl. Carroll, a seasoned expert in environmental law enforcement, shared invaluable insights and real-world experiences, offering attendees practical strategies for enforcing litter laws and fostering community engagement in litter prevention efforts.
“We are thrilled to have hosted such a successful workshop focused on litter law enforcement,” said Gail Priest, Executive Director of Keep Haralson Beautiful. “The knowledge shared by our guest speaker, Cpl. Scott Carroll, and the engaging sessions have empowered our community members and law enforcement officers to take proactive measures in keeping our environment clean and beautiful.”
Keep Haralson Beautiful extends gratitude to all attendees and partners who contributed to the success of the litter law enforcement workshop. This workshop was made possible by a grant from Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.
