Bremen City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Silas Brown as the new Director of Student and School Support, effective July 2024.
Mr. Brown is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience in the field. He began his career as a science teacher and coach at Starr’s Mill High School before obtaining his Master’s degree in 2005. In 2008, he joined Bremen City Schools as an administrator, and has been with the district ever since. Currently, he serves as the Principal of Jones Elementary School, a position he has held for over seven years.
In his new role as Director of Student and School Support, Mr. Brown will be responsible for overseeing the district’s student support services, including counseling, special education, health services, student discipline, and transportation. He will also lead the district in areas such as federal programs and district safety and security.
“Silas Brown has been an effective administrator in the Bremen City School District since 2008. He has been a positive influence in his past roles as Assistant Principal and Principal, helping to maintain a culture of excellence. His schools have consistently been recognized as Title 1 Distinguished and Rewards Schools with top test scores in Georgia. Silas played a key role in helping Jones Elementary receive back-to-back School of Excellence awards in 2011 and 2012. In 2022, JES became a National Blue Ribbon School under his leadership.
