West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) President Dr. Julie Post is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Jiles from Assistant Vice President of Facilities to Vice President of Operations and Technology.
Jiles, with 20 years of military service and prior experience, joined WGTC in 2009 as Facilities Director. Over his 15-year tenure, he progressed to roles such as Executive Director of Facilities and Assistant Vice President of Facilities. Notably, he led transformative efforts, merging two college facilities departments and overseeing significant construction projects in Douglas, Coweta, and Carroll, driving progress and growth.
“Working with Mike has been a delight; he brings creativity and effective leadership to drive substantial changes in our facilities and operations,” said Dr. Post. “He has significantly raised the bar for our facilities division, team dynamics, and infrastructure. I appreciate his dedication to the College and his willingness to continue the incredible work we have going on here.”
In his new role, Jiles will continue to oversee the facilities department, along with the information technology department and campus bookstore operations.
“As the VP I look forward to having a seat at the table as new programs and space requirements are discussed and planned for,” said Jiles. “It helps to give me a better idea of where we are headed as an organization and motivates me to do what I can to achieve those goals. I want to continue to give back to something that has given so much to me by using my skills and knowledge to help achieve the goals of WGTC.”
