Southern History with a Twist – April 19th

Newnan, GA, April 2024 – Join the Newnan Carnegie Library and Newnan Art Rez Artist-in-residence Kathryn Smith, author of Methodists & Moonshiners: Another Prohibition Expedition Through the South, April 19th at 11:00 am as she presents her new book and focuses on the connections to Newnan history. She will cover all kinds of events during the prohibition era from a prominent government official, to moonshine business, to a murder trial. 

“This event will greatly appeal to the community. Our patrons truly enjoy our history programs, especially local history. They also love our book talks and meeting authors. This will be an intriguing presentation and we always appreciate having our artists in residence visit us.” says Jessica Dunnington, the Newnan Carnegie Library Program Associate.

The Newnan Carnegie Library in Newnan, Georgia is one of the most historically significant structures in downtown Newnan and was built in 1904.
