Currently, The University of West Georgia (UWG) is seeking qualified construction management firms for a $1.2 million renovation of the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) on its Carrollton campus. The project, slated to begin construction in May 2025, will upgrade public areas on the building’s first, second, and third floors to support expanding programs in chemistry, physics, and material sciences—including new EV and battery-related coursework aligned with state workforce development goals.
Work includes replacing flooring, upgrading lighting to LED systems, refreshing wall finishes, and modernizing the main stairway and ceiling panels. The project follows sustainable design standards under Georgia’s Energy Efficiency & Sustainable Construction Act.
The 118,009-square-foot TLC, built in 1999, houses the College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences and is one of the campus’s most heavily used academic buildings.
