Partners Advancing Student Success Announces Leadership Change

Meredith Browning has been named Interim Executive Director

Partners Advancing Student Success has chosen Meredith Browning to replace departing Executive Director Brooke Mobley who will begin leading the Carrollton City Schools Educational Foundation in July.

After a long career at the Carrollton Police Department, Browning began serving as a PASS Student Advocate at Central High School last fall. She will begin her new role as Interim Executive Director July 1 to allow for a smooth transition, PASS Board Chairman Jerome Johnston said.

“Meredith’s passion, along with her deep understanding of our work, make her the ideal person to help guide us through this transition,” Johnston said.

Browning served in a number of roles for the CPD beginning in 2003 as a night shift patrol officer and has continued to serve in a public affairs role for the department since she began with PASS.

“I believe strongly in the PASS mission, having spent many years working closely with teens and children who face challenges far beyond the classroom, and I’ve seen firsthand how the right support at the right time can change the course of a life,” Browning said. “I’m honored and excited to continue working with students and families, our amazing advocates, and partnering with schools and community leaders to do everything we can to help our students not only graduate, but thrive.”

Mobley has been serving as Executive Director since she assumed the role from PASS founding director Cynthia Langley in 2022 at Langley’s retirement.

“I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Brooke for her exceptional leadership and service as Executive Director,” Johnston said. “Her vision and dedication have significantly advanced our mission and strengthened our organization in lasting ways.”

Mobley leaves the organization in good standing with a 97 percent graduation rate and record financial support. PASS’s signature fundraiser – Ladies Night Out – has continued to grow, this year generating almost $110,000.

“This is such an exciting time for PASS, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see Meredith stepping into this role,” Mobley said. “In addition to meeting every qualification, she brings firsthand experience as an advocate working directly with our students — something that will be incredibly valuable as she leads the program forward. I can’t wait to see what the future holds under her leadership.”

At the same time, Mobley called the transition bittersweet.

“Serving as director of PASS has been the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. It’s been an honor to hold this role for the past three years, and while I’m stepping aside, I remain deeply committed to the mission of PASS and look forward to supporting the organization in new ways,” she said.

PASS, founded in 2012, provides services and support to at-risk high school students in the Carroll County School System and the Carrollton City School System. PASS advocates in each local high school work to remove barriers, improve student performance and keep students on track for graduation.
