Big Boss Kitchen Brings Flavor and Fun to the West Side of Carrollton

Tucked inside the same building as the Straight Shot Pool Hall at 834 Alabama Street, a new spot is dishing up big flavor, friendly vibes, and a much-needed boost to the west side of Carrollton. Say hello to Big Boss Kitchen—a locally owned eatery that’s serving up wings, burgers, fried fish, and good times, all cooked to order.

Big Boss Kitchen first opened its doors in May 2024 with a soft launch, quietly establishing its reputation through word of mouth and satisfied customers. But it wasn’t until September, after securing its Beer & Wine license, that the team started turning up the volume—and now, they’re ready for the spotlight.

“There just aren’t a lot of restaurants on this side of town,” said the owner. “I wanted to see if we could help revitalize the area—and give people a place where they can eat good food and enjoy themselves.”

Part sports bar, part community hangout, Big Boss Kitchen offers the kind of menu that hits the spot whether you’re in the mood to watch the game, shoot a few rounds of pool, or just unwind with friends. Six TVs line the space, offering plenty to look at while you wait—or while you dig in. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for dine-in guests or folks grabbing a bite to go.

Menu highlights include:

  • Crispy, saucy wings
  • Juicy burgers with all the fixings
  • Freshly made sandwiches
  • Golden fried fish
  • And more classic bar-style favorites—all made to order

Located at Straight Shot Pool Hall at 834 Alabama Street in Carrollton, Big Boss Kitchen is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with plans to expand hours in the near future. Whether you’re a pool shark, a sports fan, or just someone craving great food without driving across town, this new local gem has something for everyone.

You can keep up with Big Boss Kitchen and get a taste of the action on their Facebook page (Straight Shot Pool Hall) where they post updates, specials, and mouth-watering food photos.

“To everyone who’s already stopped in to buy something, hang out, or just check us out—thank you,” the owner added. “You’re always welcome here, and we’ll treat you like family.”
