A Blank Canvas for Anything: Weddings at Sewell Mill Event Center in Bremen, GA

If you’re searching for a wedding venue that blends timeless Southern charm with the creative freedom of a modern space, the Sewell Mill Event Center in Bremen may be your perfect match. Housed in a beautifully preserved 1911 building—one of the last historical landmarks in our community—this venue offers more than just a place to say “I do.” With its neutral white walls and ceilings, the space serves as a true blank canvas, ready to be transformed to reflect your unique vision and style.

From the moment you enter the Sewell Mill, it’s clear that this is no ordinary event space. The original architecture has been lovingly preserved, while the functionality has been thoughtfully upgraded. The result is a space that feels timeless and versatile—ready to bring any couple’s wedding vision to life.

Thirteen years ago, Robin Worley and his best friend, Randall Redding, set out to do something meaningful for their community of West Georgia. As the clothing industry declined and local economies suffered—especially in towns like Bremen—the two saw potential in repurposing the historic Warren Sewell apparel building downtown. “Reviving a 110-year-old facility was a little like trying to raise the Titanic—it took some time mixed with sweat, vision, and determination,” said Robin with a laugh. From this 12-year effort, a revitalized community hub with multi-functional purposes has emerged.

The former executive offices were transformed into the RKR Business Hatchery to support small business owners. Hubbard’s Wedding Chapel provides an intimate setting for newlyweds, while the adjacent Cherry Blossom Ballroom—holding up to 300 guests—is perfect for receptions, reunions, galas, and corporate functions. The building’s centerpiece is the Sewell Mill Interactive Museum, complete with QR-coded exhibits that share colorful stories and ancestral photos, transporting guests back to a time when West Georgia was known as “The Clothing Center of the South.”

The bride’s journey often begins in the Ann Sewell Bridal Suite—a warm, stylish environment adorned with antique Southern charm. Designed for comfort and preparation, the suite offers the bridal party an inviting retreat with exclusive use of an entire wing of the building. Just across the hall, the groom’s suite transforms from a weekday corporate boardroom into a relaxed preparation space on wedding days, featuring a private restroom and a curated selection of classic custom apparel (because yes, Robin still works his signature suit magic here).

Ceremonies take place in Hubbard’s Chapel, a cozy, intimate room with chandeliers, draped walls, and seating for about 200 guests. The chapel also transforms beautifully for events like bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, or anniversary celebrations. You name it—it can be done. When seated at tables, the space comfortably accommodates about 75 guests.

For wedding receptions and larger gatherings, the Cherry Blossom Ballroom accommodates around 250 guests. Brides and grooms enjoy complete creative freedom—bring your own décor, DJ, backdrops, and style. The space is intentionally neutral and inviting, so your personal touches really shine. Once adorned with a painted mural, the ballroom has since been renovated into a clean, white space—perfect for any color palette. The large kitchen is another standout feature, offering plenty of space for caterers to prep, plate, and serve without squeezing into a tiny corner (as is too often the case at many venues).

Whether you’re planning an elegant micro-wedding or a lively celebration filled with dancing and delicious food, the Sewell Mill Event Center provides a stunning backdrop that’s rich in character, steeped in history, and designed to adapt to your every need.
