The City of LaGrange will provide free shredding services to the community at the first litter cleanup event of the 2025-2026 schedule on Saturday, September 6th from 8:00 a.m. to NOON. The City will provide free paper shredding services in the parking lot of the Health Department, 900 Dallis Street. A trash bin will be available to the community for the weekend.
The Junior Service League of LaGrange will be participating in the litter cleanup and also collecting school supplies from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to be donated to local middle schools. Several JSL members are middle school teachers and are excited to provide these much-needed supplies to their students. “Many families face the challenge of back-to-school expenses, and by coming together, we can help ease that burden,” said JSL Service Chairperson and Middle School Teacher Dr. Traviera Sewell. “Every notebook, pencil, and backpack collected makes a difference, ensuring our kids start the year confident, prepared, and ready to learn. We hope the community will support our students and help us in building a stronger community.”
Other community partners include DASH, which will be providing free coffee and donuts, and LaGrange College fraternity Delta Tau Delta.
