The City of LaGrange inducted the new 2025-2026 LaGrange Youth Council members into office at the LaGrange City Council meeting Tuesday (8/26) evening.
The new members took their oath and introduced themselves before the Mayor and Council. Before the city council meeting, the youth council heard from Mayor Jim Arrington and City Manager Patrick Bowie.
The LaGrange Youth Council is an advisory board composed of 32 junior and senior high school students from area high schools. This youth council gives our local youth a more formal role in the local decision-making process offering real-world experiences with elected bodies.

Thirty-two students from LaGrange High, Troup High, Callaway High, LaGrange Academy, and Springwood School are participating in the LaGrange Youth Council for the 2025-2026 school year. Members include Alex Jarvholm, Alise Gentile, Ally Hollstrom, Amatullah Fiddahussein, Aniah Rutledge, Anna Poe, Aryan Patel, Asher Skiff, Ashley Rodas Lopez, Ben Beall, Caleb Harris, Cameron Petite, Cullen Adams, Erin Young, Herra Thurman, Ilayah Thomas, Jett Napier, Julian Jones, Katelin Walker, Katherine Stogner, Lila Knight, Lucy Hart, Mack Martin, Martin Zachry, McKinnsey Moss, Millan Solomon, Nina Baker, Olivia Smith, Rose Saju, Scarlett Shin, Skylar Kang, & Sowon Kim .
Members will be required to participate in future city council meetings and the city’s “Leaving LaGrange Better Than We Found It” litter cleanup campaign. They will also be required to create a project that the community collectively votes as being important.
