Re-Thread to Close Doors on December 23rd After 8 Years of Community Impact

After eight memorable years of serving the community, Re-Thread at 1561 US-27 in Carrollton will be closing its doors on December 23, 2025. Known for its heartfelt mission and welcoming atmosphere, the shop has become more than just a business—it’s been a place of connection, support, and purpose for co-founders Michael and Starla Wahl and the many people who have walked through its doors.

In a recent video shared on social media, Michael Wahl thanked the community for their support over the years. “Re-Thread has meant the world. The last eight years have been amazing to me and my wife,” he said. “Many of y’all are friends and family to us right now, and I just want to take the time to say thank you.”

While the physical shop is closing, the Wahls are making sure to end things on a high note. Beginning this month and continuing through December 23rd, Re-Thread is hosting a Christmas gift market inside the store. Local vendors are invited to set up booths and be part of this final season. “We’re going to do a special Christmas market starting this month, all the way through December 23rd. You can come run a booth and be a part of our story,” Michael shared. It’s a festive farewell and a final opportunity for the community to gather and support small businesses during the holidays.

As for what’s next, Michael and Starla are taking a bold new step—they’re launching a travel company. Drawing from years of experience doing missions around the world, they’re shifting their energy into helping others see the world and make meaningful memories. “We started a travel company… because I know how to travel. It’s been part of my life,” Michael explained. “And now, we want to help you do the same—go on vacation, relax, and make memories.”

The transition will also be reflected online. Re-Thread’s social media will soon begin to feature travel content, vacation deals, and glimpses into the Wahls’ new journey. It’s a shift in direction, but not in heart. “Yes, December 23rd is going to be the end of Re-Thread, but it’s not going to be the end of our relationship,” Michael emphasized. “We’re not closing our hearts to you… We love you, and we thank you.”

For anyone interested in being a vendor during the Christmas market, the team is currently filling booth spaces. It’s a unique opportunity to be part of Re-Thread’s final chapter, while also celebrating the community spirit that has defined it from the start.

Re-Thread may be closing, but the story continues—with gratitude, with purpose, and with an open invitation to join Michael and Starla on their next big adventure.
