WKNG King Country 93.7, 101.9, AM 1060 is proud to announce that our very own Morning Show Host, Jon Copeland will be part of the Artists in Residence program at this year’s Georgia National Fair.
Jon will be featured in the Miller-Murphy-Howard Building in Perry, Georgia on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4, 2025. Fairgoers can stop by, meet him, and see his artistic talents in action from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Artists in Residence program showcases Georgia creators as they demonstrate their craft and interact with visitors throughout the day.
In addition to showing his newest creations, Jon will also display his first-place-winning Dumpter’sLamentpiece from last year’s juried show. In keeping with the fair’s 2025 patriotic theme, his booth will also feature a red, white, and blue touch.
Jon’s approach to art centers around one core belief in that aestheticsmatter most.
“If something has great aesthetic quality, its meaning may not be realized.” Jon explains. “Art should be able to stand on its own, without needing an explanation, and still make people stop, look, and appreciate it. In my piece Dumpster’sLament, people tell me it’s beautiful or amazing yet it’s just an old, rusty dumpster being hauled away as garbage. That’s the power of art that stands on its own.”
The Artistsin Residencebooths give guests the opportunity to explore, ask questions, and see artistry up close.
“Everyone at the WKNG King Country is proud and happy to see Jon showcase his artwork at the Georgia National Fair in Perry.” said Steve Gradick, Station Owner; “Jon has always been creative but to be an on-air radio talent and a noted artist at the same time is truly unique.”
