Halloween Is Happening in Carrollton

Carrollton will be the scene of several Halloween-themed events during the next few weeks, from trick-or-treating and movies to art workshops.

The inaugural Run Carrollton Race Series’ final race, The Running Dead, starts at Midtown Water Park, October 11 at 8am. Runners are encouraged to dress in Halloween gear for the 5K and 10K races.

The Halloween classic movies, Cocoa (October 13 at 10am) and Hocus Pocus (October 24 at 7pm) will be shown on the Amp’s big screen.

Children will travel through Adamson Square, collecting candy and goodies from merchants during Trick-or-Treat Downtown, Saturday, October 25 from 10 – 11:30am.


Kids ten and younger can decorate their own mini pumpkin (while supplies last), watch a screening of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and enjoy Butter’dudder ice cream at the Amp at the Great Pumpkin Decorating event, October 27 at 6pm. Sponsored by Butter’dudder.

Artists ages 16+ will learn how to create cuts, scrapes and scars using special effects makeup techniques at the Horror and Wounds FX workshop at Carrollton Center for the Arts, October 28, 6pm – 8pm. Get more information and register at carrolltonarts.com.
