LaGrange Mayor Jim Arrington is hosting the 3rd annual Mayor’s Christmas Ball on Saturday, December 6th at Del’Avant in downtown LaGrange. Proceeds from this event will go to the Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
For the past two years, proceeds from this annual event have provided scholarships to eight deserving young leaders in our community.
“Supporting our young people is extremely important to me. If we invest in our youth, we can feel good about our future,” said Arrington. “This event is a chance for us to come together as a community and do something meaningful for our young people. Thanks to the support of our community in 2023 and 2024, we were able to fund scholarships for eight Troup County graduates and provide hundreds of toys to the Empty Stocking Fund. I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish as a community – giving back and celebrating the season together.”
Attendees are also encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to the event. These toys will be donated to the LaGrange Empty Stocking Fund.
There will once again be an online auction. Donated items will be auctioned off online, allowing even more people to get involved and contribute to the scholarship fund.
“Whether you join us in person, donate a toy, bid on an auction item, or all of the above, I’m hoping our community will once again come together for this wonderful cause,” said Arrington.
