“Tails of Joy: A Holiday Gala to Bring Shelter Pets Home for the Holidays”

The holiday season is a time for giving, and this year, the Sewell Mill Community and Event Center is making spirits bright with a special event that will warm hearts and help paws. On December 12, 2025, the Sewell Mill Community and Event Center in Bremen, Georgia, will host the Tails of Joy Holiday Gala, a festive evening dedicated to supporting the well-being of shelter animals and helping them find the loving homes they deserve.

This black-tie-optional event, scheduled from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., promises a magical night filled with food, friends, music, and meaningful purpose. Guests will enjoy a lively atmosphere complete with a silent auction and live entertainment by the ETC Band. But beyond the fun, the gala carries a mission close to the hearts of many: to raise funds that directly benefit local shelter animals.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to a nonprofit organization focused on improving the lives of these animals while they await adoption. The funds will be used to enhance shelter conditions, support community spay and neuter initiatives, and purchase a sprinter van to transport dogs to adoption-ready shelters in less crowded areas. While the local shelter houses an average of 600 animals, many northern shelters are actively seeking pets to adopt. With a transport van capable of safely moving 30 to 40 animals per trip, multiple annual journeys could significantly increase adoption rates. Currently, the shelter adopts out about 40 dogs each month but takes in roughly 110—making these transport opportunities vital.

Sponsorship opportunities for the gala offer various levels of involvement, ranging from the $500 “Bark Buddy” tier to the $10,000 “Top Dog” sponsorship. Each level includes reserved seating, recognition at the event, promotional opportunities, and lasting contributions such as a named bench or food pantry plaque at the shelter.

This gala is more than a night out—it’s a chance for the community to come together and make a lasting impact on the lives of animals in need. Whether attending as an individual or a sponsor, guests will leave knowing they’ve helped move tails—and hearts—toward a brighter future.

For more information about attending or sponsoring the event, interested parties are encouraged to reach out directly to event organizer Jill Pierce at 404-323-4683.

Together, we can turn holiday cheer into real change for animals in search of their forever homes.
