Carrollton Elementary Launches Christmas Store for Students

Carrollton Elementary students (from left) Sawyer Sipsy, Harper Elmore, Porter Wilson, Riley Harris, Levi McFarland, Avery Ryland, and Laikyn Crowder chose to show off their Christmas spirit during Homecoming week.

A new experience is in store for Carrollton Elementary students, inviting each to give to their loved ones this holiday season. During the school day from Dec. 1 through Dec. 8, the CES Parent-Teacher-Volunteer Organization (PTVO) board members and volunteers will set up a holiday store at school where students can shop for affordable and memorable gifts. With the support of sponsors, all children will have the opportunity to practice generosity and gratitude this holiday season.

The CES holiday gift shop is designed to celebrate the season of giving by providing many students with their first opportunity to shop for family members and friends. Items are priced as low as 25 cents, with the majority of gift options around $2, making the experience attainable for all students. Learning how to work within a budget helps students understand how to use their money wisely, while giving them a sense of accomplishment when they bring home a wrapped gift.

This fundraiser will usher in the Christmas spirit in place of the Jingle Bell Jog, which had a successful run supporting CES initiatives for more than a decade. PTVO members are excited to embrace a new opportunity where all students feel included in the experience. Each class will have an allotted shopping time, and teachers will help guide students in the purchasing process.

CES Principal Courtney Walker believes that this Christmas store will emphasize the values of responsibility and generosity.

“We are excited to bring the new experience to our students. At Carrollton Elementary, we teach our young Trojans to be generous and always consider others, and the holiday gift shop is the perfect way to practice those values,” said Walker. “We hope to help capture the joy of this season for students. I am grateful for all of the work our PTVO put into making this happen, and to our sponsors for expanding this opportunity to more students.”

All proceeds raised through the CES Christmas Store will go directly back to Carrollton Elementary. Community supporters and families are invited to sponsor a child to enjoy this unique experience.
