Carrollton High School Director of Bands Dr. Christopher Carr was named District Seven Music Teacher of the Year at this year’s 2026 Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service. The award was presented by GMEA Immediate Past President Neil Ruby to Carr at the GMEA in-service conference in Athens, Ga, on Thursday, Jan. 29.
Recipients of this prestigious award are nominated by peers and selected through a rigorous process. In his 12th year leading the Trojan Band program, Dr. Carr’s selection demonstrates his excellence in music education.
