The Carrollton Dawnbreakers Rotary Club’s annual Casino Night fundraiser returns for its 19th year on March 14 at Sunset Hills Country Club, combining an evening of lively entertainment and supporting local charities across the Carrollton community.
Since 2007, more than 300 guests annually have enjoyed a high-energy night of casino-style gaming, raffles, food, drinks, and music, proving that giving back can also be a great time. Proceeds from the event stay local, supporting the community’s greatest needs, including The Blake House; CASA; CCMHA; Child Advocacy Center; Community Beautification; Council on Aging; Disaster Relief; FERST Foundation; Fraternal Order of Police (Shop with a Cop); Heaven in Your Home; Law Enforcement Education & Appreciation; Laws of Life Program; Pantry Project of Carroll County; PASS; Pine Knoll; Read Across America Day; Recovery Spot of West Georgia; Road Clean Up; Interact; Rotaract; Starting in Style; Toys for Tots; Veterans initiatives; and West Georgia Technical College.
In addition to charitable giving, Dawnbreaker Rotary members are actively involved in hands-on service projects throughout the year and provide scholarship and leadership opportunities to local students through the Laws of Life Essay contest and the Rotary Youth Leadership summer program.
Dawnbreakers president, Marla Turpin, said the club offers members a sense of purpose and belonging while creating opportunities to serve others.
“When I was a teenager, I had the opportunity to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership program,” she said. “That weeklong summer experience had a profound impact on me and taught me leadership through service. I see that same mission lived out every day through Rotary membership. Casino Night is a perfect example that brings people together for a fun night while supporting organizations that are making a real difference in our community.”
The Carrollton Dawnbreakers Rotary Club has served the Carrollton community since 1997, bringing together local leaders committed to Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self. The club meets every Wednesday morning at Sunset Hills Country Club.
