Supporting Water Mission | Saturday, April 25
The community is invited to come together for Walk for Water, a family-friendly event taking place on Saturday, April 25. This meaningful walk supports Water Mission, a global nonprofit working to end the water crisis by providing sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene around the world.
Addressing a Global Crisis
According to Water Mission, 2 billion people lack access to clean, safe water around the world, and 3.6 billion people do not have safely managed sanitation. The consequences are severe: one person dies every 37 seconds from a water-related illness, and children miss 443 million school days each year due to the global water crisis.
Water Mission responds to this urgent need by designing and implementing sustainable, community-based water solutions. Since 2001, the organization has served more than 8 million people through over 3,200 projects in 60 countries, helping ensure that safe water continues to flow for years to come.
About the Walk for Water
Southwire’s Walk for Water is more than a walk- it’s a chance for the community to raise awareness, show compassion, and support life-saving work while enjoying a fun morning together.
Participants are encouraged to gather a team and walk alongside friends, family members, neighbors, coworkers, or classmates. Creating a team is a great way to build community, amplify impact, and support the cause together.
Every step taken helps shine a light on the importance of access to safe water and supports Water Mission’s efforts to bring health, hope, and opportunity to communities around the world. Together, participants can make a lasting impact- one step at a time.
