Sharpsburg author Skip Johnson has been named a finalist in the 2026 Georgia Author of the Year Awards.
The announcement was made today by the Georgia Writers Association.
This GAYA recognition is Skip’s second honor this year for his newest fiction book The Five Secrets of Luck.
Two months ago, the book—his twelfth—was named the Inspirational category winner in The Maxy Awards, making Johnson the first author to be a two-time winner in the eleven year-history of that literary competition.
The Georgia Author of the Year Awards were begun in 1964 and are hosted annually to celebrate the best books published by Georgia authors.
