LaGrange Mayor’s Summer Reading Club Final Event Planned for Saturday, July 18 at LaGrange Art Museum

Mayor Arrington reads to families at the Mayor’s Reading Club on July 10.

LaGrange Mayor Jim Arrington, in partnership with Get Troup Reading and the Rotary Club of LaGrange, is hosting his fourth and final Mayor’s Summer Reading Club on Saturday, July 18, at the LaGrange Art Museum, 112 Lafayette Parkway, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Every child in attendance will receive a free book. Mayor Jim Arrington will read the children’s book Ish by Peter Reynolds, then everyone is invited to participate in an art project.

Get Troup Reading is leading the initiative in partnership with the City of LaGrange and the Rotary Club of LaGrange. The mission of the LaGrange Mayor’s Reading Club is to provide quality books and family-friendly resources while strengthening literacy skills among children ages 2 to 10.

The Mayor’s Reading Club is part of a statewide initiative created by GeorgiaForward, a nonprofit organization managed by the Georgia Municipal Association. The program empowers mayors to lead literacy efforts in their communities and encourages reading among young children through books, events, and family engagement.

Every Mayor’s Reading Club event is free and open to the public.
