The Carrollton Center for the Arts will celebrate the nation’s big Two – Five – O with a concert by the Georgia State Defense Force Band, August 28 at 2pm.
“This program highlights the music that inspired and united Americans during the nation’s founding, alongside the rich tradition of military band music that followed,” said GSDF Executive Officer Captain Terry Lowry. Lowry and Lieutenant Colonel Glenn Moore will conduct the performance.
The concert will conclude with a massed-band finale featuring musicians from the Carrollton Wind Ensemble and the Callandwald Concert Band.
The Abraham Baldwin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution – the event’s sponsor – invites concertgoers to a post- performance reception in the arts center’s front lobby.
Free tickets may be obtained at the center’s box office on Alabama Street in Carrollton. Seats are limited.
