The Community Foundation of West Georgia (CFWG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew B. Owensby to its Board of Directors.
A native of Franklin, Georgia, Owensby currently resides there with his wife, Amber, and their three children. He has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Franklin since 2018. Throughout his college, seminary, and postgraduate studies, Owensby has remained rooted in West Georgia, dedicating more than 20 years to serving local churches and communities. He brings a deep passion for community engagement and a strong background in nonprofit leadership. He has previously served on nonprofit boards and has been actively involved in numerous community initiatives aimed at strengthening and supporting the people of West Georgia.
“Andrew’s heart for service and his dedication to the people of West Georgia are evident in everything he does,” said Nichole Pezold, Board Chair of the Community Foundation of West Georgia. “We are honored to have him join our board and are confident his perspective and leadership will help further the Foundation’s mission.”
“I am very excited to serve on the Board of Directors for this great organization that has done so much good and helped so many over the years,” said Owensby. “It is an honor to help continue that valuable tradition as a member of the board. I am always excited to help others, and this is a great opportunity to do just that.”
Owensby’s commitment to service and his deep roots in the region align closely with the Foundation’s mission to connect people who care with causes that matter. His leadership and perspective will be valuable assets as CFWG continues its work to enhance the quality of life across Carroll, Haralson, and Heard counties.
