Carrollton Half Marathon Returns September 26

The seventh running of the Carrollton Half Marathon will take place on September 26 and organizers anticipate a record number of runners making the 13.1-mile trek this year.

“Reaching our seventh year is a huge milestone for the Carrollton Half Marathon,” said Race Director Tyler Woodard. “This year we will have a record number of participants. We have already surpassed last year’s registration numbers and we have over a month left before race day. What started as an exciting new event in 2019 has truly grown into a beloved tradition for local runners and visitors alike. We are thrilled to welcome participants back to experience Carrollton’s incredible scenery, vibrant downtown, unmatched community support and a wonderful finish line experience. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or completing your very first 13.1, this race is built to celebrate every single runner.”

The Half Marathon’s 13.1-mile course starts at Adamson Square, then takes runners through the city and along the shaded, rolling hills of the GreenBelt. The course includes sections that are intended to showcase more of Carrollton’s scenery. Runners will enjoy music and food at the Amp after crossing the finish line.

“We’re proud to support this premier event, which attracts runners from throughout our community and across the region,” said Bree Puckett, population health manager for Tanner Health’s Get Healthy, Live Well. “The Carrollton Half Marathon is a great example of what can happen when organizations come together to promote fitness, fun and everything that makes Carrollton a special place to live and visit. It inspires people to be active while strengthening the connections that help build healthier, stronger communities.”

Race packets can be picked up at SoleRoots Running Company in Carrollton, September 23 and 24 from 12pm – 6pm and at the Pre Race Expo at the Depot on Bradley, September 25 from 11am – 7pm. They can also be picked up on the day of the race at the Amp from 6am – 6:45am.

“This race showcases the strength of our running community and the people who rally around it,” said West Georgia Track Club Board Member Susan Holland. “West Georgia Track Club is proud to partner with the City of Carrollton and Tanner Health to welcome runners from across the country, giving them a chance to experience our community, our GreenBelt and the incredible support that makes this race so memorable. We want every participant to leave Carrollton feeling like they were part of something truly special.”

Individual or relay team registration includes a Carrollton Half Marathon t-shirt, finisher’s medal and free food and drink tickets for the post-race festivities. The West Georgia Track Club will award cash prizes to the first, second and third place overall male and female runners, who will also receive a commemorative gift and exclusive race hoodie. First place male and female in the Masters category will be presented with a commemorative gift. The top three in each age group and top three teams in the relay categories will receive a commemorative gift. All finishers will be given a finisher’s medal.

The half marathon will start at 7:15am and will be held rain or shine.
