Carrollton City Schools will celebrate Homecoming on Friday, Oct. 30, with beloved traditions and new student-driven competitions throughout the week. This year, the district will build on the strong foundation of school spirit by implementing a new initiative called the Golden Games designed to expand participation and strengthen connections across all grade levels.
Themed “The Golden Games,” Homecoming week will introduce a competition rewarding school spirit, creativity, and community involvement. Students and staff will be divided into four teams, each with its own team crest and members representing multiple grade levels. Teams will compete to earn Trojan Gold points through participation, judged events, and special challenges, including the annual Gold and Black Give Back donation drive, dress-up days, banner contests, float decorating, event attendance, pep rally spirit challenges, and Boosterthon participation at the lower schools.
“Our annual Homecoming celebration honors the rich traditions that define Carrollton while creating new ways for our district to grow closer together,” said CHS Principal Dr. Eric Simmons. “From the Gold and Black Give Back drive to the new team challenges, The Golden Games will be a fantastic week, and I am grateful to Dr. Marsha French and Ms. Alison Hibbard for their dedicated vision and planning to bring this celebration to life.”
For the 17th consecutive year, CCS will support local nonprofits through the Gold and Black Give Back donation drive, which fuels the organizations’ supplies for the year. Positive community impact remains the priority during Homecoming week, and as part of the Golden Games, teams will earn points through both item collections and monetary donations. This tradition emphasizes the importance of service and giving back to the community, values instilled through character education and modeled through this campaign.
By combining longstanding traditions with new opportunities for involvement, the Golden Games of the Trojan Nation aim to create a homecoming experience that connects students and staff across the district while celebrating the school spirit, generosity, and community pride that define the Trojan Nation.
Homecoming week will take place Oct. 26-30 and will end with the annual parade and football game on Friday, Oct. 30. Carrollton City Schools invites the community to join the celebrations.
