We decided to unofficially name the area around Rome Street and E. Reese St Uptown Carrollton due to a pending upper high end residential project in the works. Century 21 Novus Realty’s Rett Harmon confirms to us that 7-8 residential dwellings will be constructed on the space between Reese St and Rhudy St. In the past few months the shopping center directly next to this area off Rome Street has seen an upswing in activity. Just released to us today, LifeGate Downtown will be moving into the former Carrollton Crossfit / Farmers Cupboard. Most recently Tribus Fitness opened in this center along with Sutton’s and Walker’s Outdoors. The impact of higher end homes will most certainly fill a void of low inventory in the Downtown area. Just a few years ago a townhome project was released for this area which never moved forward. It does seem like the new residential construction will take place due to trees being cleared and stakes in the ground. Excited for the growth!
