Downtown LaGrange bids a heartfelt farewell to a beloved local gem, YAMA Sushi & K-BBQ, which has officially closed its doors as of April 1, 2025. A handwritten sign posted on the restaurant’s window delivered the emotional news directly to loyal customers, thanking them for their support and expressing deep gratitude for the memories shared.
“Hi, my friends,” the note begins warmly, “Thank you so much for enjoy with Yama.” The sincerity of the message shines through with the broken english. The note explains that the restaurant can no longer continue “with my efforts,” and ends with a touching reminder: “We are really never forget your happiness & loves.”
The restaurant, known for its cozy atmosphere, sizzling Korean barbecue, and fresh sushi offerings, had become a local favorite in LaGrange’s growing dining scene. The owner who signed the letter alongside “Yama,” clearly put his heart into both the food and the friendships formed over meals.
While the community will miss the flavors and hospitality of YAMA, the sentiment left behind speaks volumes: it wasn’t just about food—it was about connection.
