On any given Friday night, the Carrollton High School audio-video team brings Trojan football to life. Skilled in camera operation and production design, student creators display their talents for the crowds who fill the stands.
Notably, in preparation for this season, CHS Audio-Video Technology and Film Pathway Instructor Bill Long and his team of students presented alongside industry professionals at the Formetco Scoreboard Summer Camp.
“Presenting at the Formetco Scoreboard Summer Camp was very exciting and a tremendous honor,” said Long. “There was such a great group of professionals and participating high schools, which really gave us a chance to showcase Carrollton High School, the fantastic work of our students, and how we get such great crowd engagement.”
Long applauded CHS senior Alana Lee for speaking alongside him at their presentation, Making AV Work for Your School, at the Formetco conference in front of production directors from the University of Georgia, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Georgia State University, as well as the Formetco executives and staff. Alana will serve as the Stadium Production Director for the 2025-2026 school year.

“Carrollton’s team truly elevated the conversation around fan engagement. Their out-of-the-box thinking demonstrated how a video board can be more than just a scoreboard — it can be a powerful tool to connect the entire community,” shared Formetco’s VP of Sales & Marketing Jock Gibb.
Continuing to set the standard for high school production teams, the audio-video students operate the digital scoreboard and deliver memorable content. This season, fans can enjoy revamped hype videos featuring the school resource officers and local veterans. While they will continue to highlight the athletes, band, and student section, the team will premiere split-screen celebrity look-alike videos, themed student section frames and other media designed to boost crowd participation.

“At CHS, we want to provide students with industry experiences that they can build on after they graduate. Mr. Long and his Audio-Video Technology and Film pathway students exemplify hands-on learning, and they do incredible work bringing their ideas to life,” said CHS Principal Ian Lyle. “I am proud of the standard of excellence that this team produces time and time again. We look forward to seeing how they will continue to innovate and engage our audiences.”
