The West Georgia yoga community gathered Saturday, Sept. 20, for the 14th annual Carrollton Yoga and Healing Arts Fest. The free event was held at the Amp in downtown Carrollton, bringing together practitioners of all levels.
Yogafest 2025 kicked off their “Awaken the Inner Light” theme with a new tradition featuring a special class the night before the key event. The evening was led by co-founder, Lisa Jacobson of Present Life Counseling, at Lakeshore Pavillion. The next morning everyone followed tradition by practicing yoga downtown with eight community yoga instructors – Rose Aramian, LYT; co-founder, Inge Mula Myllerup Brookhuis, CIYT-senior level and CYT; Christina DeMaioribus, YTT; Laura Haynes, LMT and E-RYT 200; Andrea Laubstein; Sarah Littlejohn, LMT; co-founder, Angie Pace, E-RYT 200; and co-founder, Karen Sifton, E-RYT500. Another first for the event was a live art painting of the group by local artist, Hannah Griffin. The piece was raffled at the conclusion of the day along with three sponsor baskets. All proceeds from the raffle were donated to Feeding Families West Georgia, a local non-profit dedicated to providing meals to those in the local community.
For almost a decade and a half, yogis across West Georgia have flocked to the four-hour free event featuring local powerhouse instructors in the Carrollton community. The gathering provides opportunities to network with fellow practitioners and introduces beginners to the discipline. It also enhances experienced individuals’ practice by learning from diverse teachers that may be outside their home studio.
“Every year, I love seeing how this festival brings people closer to themselves and each other,” shares Lisa Jacobson. “It’s like a Yoga reunion, always open to newcomers!”
