The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) named Joel Dillingham to take over as the new District 6 Area 4 Manager. Dillingham brings 18 years of experience at GDOT to his new position where he will oversee all of the construction and maintenance projects in Area 4, which covers Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, and Walker counties.
“I’m excited to lead our team as we continue to address the needs of the traveling public here in northwest Georgia,” Dillingham said. “We have a lot of projects we are looking forward to getting underway in the near future.”
Dillingham most recently served as the Assistant Area Construction Manager for Area 4, but his career has included stints in construction management and inspection, engineering technician, and project manager. As a Georgia native who grew up in Rome, Dillingham has watched and been a part of the state’s growing infrastructure.
“Georgia is a fast-growing state,” Dillingham. “Our team in Area 4 and all of GDOT will continue to enhance the roadways to keep all of Georgia on the move.”
