Students competing in the Agriculture Sales Team event complete a skills test in marketing and selling agricultural products. There is a written exam and sales presentation. Students work together to create a sales plan for a given product; the individuals participate in a role-play to demonstrate their selling skills with a judge acting as a customer. The goal is to develop skills in sales concepts, customer relations, and product knowledge.
Students competing in the Farm Business Management Team event apply economic principles and business skills to agricultural situations. It involves both an individual component, where each member takes a written test, and a team activity where members collaborate on a business decision and present their findings. The final score is a combination of the top three individual scores and the team’s score on the activity.
Central High School Agriculture teachers are Mr. Stanley Clarke and Mr. Jackson Horton.
