Carrollton BookFest 2026 Brings a Weekend of Literary Events

Carrollton BookFest 2026 is bringing a full schedule of workshops, author conversations and special guest appearances to the Carrollton Center for the Arts on March 27 and 28. From hands-on writing sessions to keynote presentations by award-winning authors, the two-day event offers opportunities for both readers and aspiring writers to engage with the literary community.

March 27

Carrollton BookFest 2026 Writer’s Workshops 

9 AM- Noon

Openings – How Do You Know How and Where to Begin? with Bren McClain, award winning author.

1 PM – 4 PM

Marketing for Children’s Books with JJ Allen, children’s author. 

So You Want to Write with George Weinstein and Kim Conrey both award winning published authors of multiple genres. Encouraging new writers!

Poetry in Two Parts: Giving Characters a Voice: Part 1 Using First Person in Poetry and Short Fiction and Part 2 Write What You’ve Learned. With Jennifer Horne, former Poet Laureate of Alabama

Keynote Address by Wanda Morris, Georgia Author of the Year 2025 for Mystery/Thriller and award wining author of All Her Little Secrets, Anywhere You Run and What You Leave Behind. 5:30 reception and 6:30 address. Carrollton BookFest 2026 Conversation with …

“Conversation with …” the authors. Join eight award winning authors in conversation with coffee and pastries in the morning and wine and appetizers in the afternoon. This intimate setting is a wonderful way to get to know the individual authors and their works. Morning sessions (10 am to 11:30 am) include Terah Shelton Harris, Parul Kapur, Robert Gwaltney, and Jenn Lyons. Afternoon sessions (2:45 pm – 4:15 pm) include Emily Carpenter, Lo Patrick, G.A.
