Moos and Brews Bringing Coffee, Ice Cream, Loaded Teas and Sweet Treats to Carrollton

A new locally owned shop is preparing to bring coffee, ice cream, loaded teas and sweet treats to the First Tuesday Mall area in Carrollton.

Moos and Brews, located beside Dance West in the former cell phone store space, is the newest venture from mobile business owner and certified bartender Krystal Killcreas, who said the goal is to create a fun stop for families, gym-goers and anyone looking for a pick-me-up.

“We are in the process of opening Moos and Brews,” Krystal said. “It is going to be an ice cream, latte, coffee and loaded tea shop, and we’re going to have a whole candy wall where people can scoop their own candy.”

The shop will feature ice cream, espresso-based coffee drinks, loaded teas, smoothies, protein shakes and prepackaged baked goods, with plans to eventually partner with local bakeries for additional treats.

Unlike chain coffee shops, Moos and Brews plans to use freshly ground coffee beans and made-to-order espresso drinks.

“It’s not going to be prepackaged coffee,” Krystal said. “We will grind our beans and make espresso shots fresh. I want to make sure everybody likes their coffee before they walk off.”

The business owner said the location was carefully chosen to serve the growing west side of Carrollton. Situated near Thunder Zone, Planet Fitness, soccer fields, the GreenBelt and Dance West, Moos and Brews hopes to become a welcoming stop for families and visitors enjoying some of Carrollton’s most active community spaces.

Krystal said the shop’s loaded teas and protein shakes are also expected to be popular with those using the GreenBelt, visiting nearby gyms or participating in local sports activities by providing a quick boost of energy and refreshment.

“With the dance studio beside us and all the ball fields nearby, we’re really hoping families come over for ice cream,” Krystal said. “And with Planet Fitness there too, we wanted healthy options like protein shakes and smoothies.”

The candy wall will allow customers to scoop and purchase candy by weight, offering everything from small bags to larger selections.

Before making the leap into a brick-and-mortar storefront, Krystal spent two years operating mobile trailers for events, festivals, weddings and parties.

“This has been my dream to go brick and mortar,” she said. “I’ll still be doing my mobile trailers for weddings, teacher appreciation events and festivals, but I was ready for a permanent location.”

She also continues to operate a separate mobile bar trailer for adult events and private parties.

As Moos and Brews prepares to open, Krystal expressed gratitude for the support she has received throughout the process, especially from leasing agent Misha Page of Coldwell Banker, who helped secure the location.

“She’s been very encouraging and helpful through this whole process,” Krystal said. “We’re excited to help bring more options to this side of Carrollton.”

An official opening date for Moos and Brews is expected to be announced soon.
