Carrollton Electronics Recycling Event Returns October 3

Keep Carroll Beautiful will host its Fall Electronics Recycling event on Saturday, October 3, 2026, giving area residents an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronics.

The event will take place from OCTOBER 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southwire Campus, located at 1 Southwire Drive in Carrollton. The recycling event will be held rain or shine, although organizers encourage residents to monitor Keep Carroll Beautiful’s social media pages for possible weather-related delays.

Residents who have old electronics collecting dust in closets, garages or attics can bring a wide variety of items for recycling.

Accepted electronics include cell phones and smartphones, analog phones, fax machines, computers, laptops, notebooks and Chromebooks. Computer accessories such as keyboards and speakers will also be accepted, although wood-cased speakers cannot be recycled at the event.

Printers, cables, cameras, camcorders, video cameras, radios, cassette players, CD and DVD players, and small speakers are also accepted. Organizers will take many types of electronic equipment that process or store data.

Televisions, including CRT, LCD and LED models, may be brought to the event. Console televisions and televisions with wooden cases will not be accepted.

Batteries will also be accepted, with the exception of power tool batteries. Those batteries can instead be taken to participating home improvement retailers such as Home Depot or Lowe’s.

Several items will not be accepted at the electronics recycling event. These include large appliances and small appliances such as blenders, mixers and microwaves. Vacuums, lamps, fans, personal grooming appliances, power tools, thermostats and electric thermometers are also excluded.

Personal grooming appliances include items such as hair dryers, clippers, razors and curling irons.

Organizers also ask residents not to bring household trash or other types of recyclable materials to the electronics collection.

Thermostats and electric thermometers can be saved for a future Tired of Tires, Household Hazardous Waste and Paper Shredding event.

Residents who are unsure how to dispose of items that are not accepted at the electronics event can consult Keep Carroll Beautiful’s local recycling guide at https://www.keepcarrollbeautiful.org/recycling/howtorecycle/.
