Performers
Gene Watson
This year marks the Golden Anniversary of one of our greatest living country vocalists. In 1962, Gene Watson began his professional career by recording his first single.
“I didn’t know what I was doing,” he chuckles, remembering himself as a 19-year-old. “I think maybe I was dreaming a little bit. Who knows what’s going through your mind back then? I was playing nightclubs here and there and decided it might be good if I could record a song.

CRB was started in the 1970’s by Roger Thurmond and Danny Wilson. They played all over the state and brought great classic country to many listeners. The band played on town squares, festivals and dance halls and was well known for their square dance style of music. As the years passed, Roger had 2 sons(Tom & Tim) and they grew up listening to this music and started delevoping their skills in the early 80’s. As bands members would leave and move on to other things, Tom & Tim stepped in and continued the CRB with Roger along side. CRB has played some big time venues and opened for some Nashville artists along the way. Some of those include GA Mtn Fair, J & J Center, Country Rock, Club 201 and many more. CRB has opened for T Graham Brown, Joe Diffie, Roy Clark, Gene Watson, Randy Travis, Neal McCoy and Confederate Railroad. Roger retired in 2013 but the other Thurmond boys are keeping CRB rolling along. A lot has changed over the years and musicians have come and gone but the Traditional Classic style has never changed and never will.
