Global Issues Take Center Stage at Great Decisions 2026 in Carrollton

Great Decisions, a project of the Foreign Policy Association (fpa.org), is returning to Carrollton in 2026, offering a series of non-partisan discussions on U.S. foreign policy.
Programs will be held each Thursday in February and March, with a different stand-alone topic featured every week. Each session begins at 6:30 p.m. with an informative video, followed by a 30-minute presentation at 7 p.m. from a guest speaker. Group discussion will follow and continue until 8 p.m.
Meetings will take place in Room 115 of the Nursing Building at the University of West Georgia (305 West Georgia Drive). Parking, including handicapped-accessible spaces, is conveniently located nearby and is free in the evenings.
Great Decisions 2026 is sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Carrollton-Carroll County, the Rotary Club of Carrollton and the University of West Georgia’s Thomas B. Murphy Center for Public Service. Participation is free and open to the public.
The first session, scheduled for Feb. 5, 2026, will feature the topic “America and the World: Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy.” The speaker will be Dr. J. Salvador Peralta, Professor of Political Science at UWG.
