Great Decisions 2026: The Future Of Human Rights And International Law

Great Decisions, a project of the Foreign Policy Association (fpa.org), is back in Carrollton for 2026. Join non-partisan discussions on foreign policy from the U.S. perspective each Thursday in February and March. Each week there is a new “stand alone” topic. Each program begins at 6:30 pm with an informative video. A speaker presents at 7:00 for 30 minutes and chairs a group discussion until 8 pm. The location is Room 115 in the Nursing Building at the University of West Georgia (305 West GA Drive). Parking, including handicapped parking, is convenient to the location and is free in the evenings.
Great Decisions 2026 is sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Carrollton-Carroll County, the Rotary Club of Carrollton and the University of West Georgia’s Thomas B. Murphy Center for Public Service. Participation is free and the public is invited.
On February 26, the topic will be “The Future of Human Rights and International Law”. The speaker and discussion leader will be Dr. Kathie Barrett, Dept. of Civic Engagement and Public Service, UWG. This program explores the future of civil society and legal norms as democracy and human rights decline globally.
