We have some sad closing news to report. After more than two decades of service on Hospital Drive, the Blimpie location franchise run by a local family has closed their doors. The Blimpie at the Douglas Commons Shopping Center next to Kroger and the UPS store closed back in late October. According to the landlord, the location closed because the franchise owner decided to retire. It has been family-owned since it opened in the 1990s and was a popular lunch spot for city and county courthouse workers. At this time we’ve had no information about what will open in that spot but will let you know when we have any word on a replacement store.
