Over the last few months Whitesburg has seen an increase in new businesses starting in the city. El Loco opened up a few months ago, along with Pam’s Diner and Pop’s Smokehouse. The newest store to the city is Doug’s Woodworking and Thrift Store which is in the slide show above. We were at the Grand Opening this weekend for their free hot dogs and wonderful conversation. Doug also showed us some amazing pictures of the woodworking work he does. He is very handy and can build almost anything according to request. Things like coffee tables, sofa tables, bar shelving, and small benches. He can use any wood you would like and can build them according to your dimensions and specifications.  Doug also has a thrift store at the location as well. The store is located on 1058 Main Street in Whitesburg. There is also a new thrift store opening on April 13th where Budget Movies used to be. We do not have anymore details on this new shop. A little bit further down the road towards the round about is My Sister’s Favorite Things. This store opened a little more than a year ago. As you can see Whitesburg seems to be a hot spot right now for new small businesses.
