Trident Seafoods started with just one boat in 1970. Chuck Bundrant was an Alaska king crab fisherman. Two of his friends joined him in the adventure of a lifetime. Trident Foods was founded in 1973 as a young corporation who hooked it’s future to Alaska’s fine fishing. Trident has processing facilities in Anacortes, Bellingham, and Seattle, Washington. They provide ready to eat seafood for U.S. Food Service and retail distributors. In 2000, Trident Seafoods processed more than 250 million pounds of finished products and employed 4,000 people annually. This made Trident Seasfoods Corporation the most successful privately held, “All American-owned” seafood processor in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.

Now that you know some of the background about Trident Seafoods, Gov. Nathan Deal announced today (Aug 14) that Trident Seafoods would enter Carroll County in 2014. They will invest $41 million dollars in the state of Georgia and the plant will create 175 jobs in the community! The plant will be located in the former Chiquita / Fresh Express building off 100 Performance Way in Carrollton. Currently Decostar seems to be using part of the facility. We went to check out the area today, Aug 14. Hiring will take place mid 2014. For more information about Trident Seafoods you can check out their website by clicking here. We did take a few of the words from their about us page to develop our article.
