The City of Anniston is a place where we go to enjoy seafood at Top O’ The River, play a game of Putt Putt north of the City, or just ride around cooling off after a hot day at Cheaha State Park. Lately the city has been working very hard renovating several Downtown businesses including the Watermark Tower. Next on the list is the renovation of the Victoria Inn and Restaurant which is located at 1604 Quintard Avenue. The city currently owns the Victoria Inn which is on the corner of 16th Street and Quintard Avenue. Many celebrities, corporate travelers, and vacationers stay here quite often. The Inn is home to 60 rooms that include suites and dining facilities. The renovation should begin shortly. You can see the Inn and it’s splendor by clicking this link. Moving on down Quintard Avenue to Oxford, the Toys-R-Us Express has moved from near Goody’s inside the mall to the Dillard’s side. An unannounced retailer will soon take it’s former spot, the mall tells us. Aldi and Bojangles have both opened. A Milo’s Hamburgers is coming soon near the lowest priced gas station in town south of I-20. Sam’s Club is expected to open on July 24th in the Oxford Exchange. If you are around the Oxford area make sure you try out Lamar’s Donuts which is located at 1781 Hamric Drive. And try a round of Putt-Putt for less than $6 off 2431 Mcclellen Blvd in Anniston!
