UPDATE 8/18 :

After 13 years serving the best coffee in Carrollton, the time has come to close the NewsStand and integrate the magazine and newspaper aspect of the business into the bookstore. That means that all of the fixtures, equipment, and furniture is available for purchase. We also have syrups, cups, coffee, frappe mix, smoothie mix, and lids as well as soft drinks and cigarettes available for purchase.  Drop by to check our these special offers.
The last day of business for the NewsStand will be Saturday, August 23rd; and the week of the 25th will be devoted to clearing out the space. – Dorothy

PREVIOUS STORY :

This is not a very good day. For years I have spent countless hours sitting in a nice comfy chair drinking coffee and petting the cats in Horton’s NewsStand. The coffee shop just sent out this announcement below on their Facebook page :

All of the staff was so welcoming each and every morning. It gave my day that extra boost it needed. We will most certainly miss The NewsStand but will continue shopping in Horton’s Bookstore and visit the cats!  – Jonathan
