Final Store Transition to be Completed Early November

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers (Goodwill SR), one of the region’s leading community-based nonprofits focused on providing career resources, training and other services, announced today that the transition to its new retail location in Carrollton is in its final stages.

The 15,000-square-foot facility is located in the heart of Carrollton’s retail district at 1301 South Park Street, and the move will be complete by November 8, 2014 when the former store located at 108 Park Place Way closes. The Park Place Way facility will be placed for sale in the near future.

“We’ve been thrilled with the success of the new Carrollton Goodwill location,” said Julie Bennett, Director of Communications at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers. “The community has really embraced the new store and we’re seeing Carrollton customers and donors migrating to the location.”

The transition from the former store not only offers Carrollton residents a new, convenient place to shop and donate items, but will also provide improved service to the community through the addition of a 1,500-square-foot career center. The facility offers a variety of career search resources including job board listings and open employment positions in the community along with classes in resume writing and interview skills. Goodwill staff members are available at the career center daily to assist with the services provided.

Goodwill SR uses the proceeds from the sale of donated goods to provide free job training and career services to the community. Community members can help the organization continue to provide these services by donating gently used clothing items and household goods at the South Park Street location.
