(Carrollton, Ga. – November 21, 2014) Scott Johnson, third grade student and top AR point earner for the 2014 REACH camp at GlantonHindsman Elementary held last summer, spoke to the Fairfield Kiwanis Club on November 18, 2014.
Scott attributed his love and success of reading to the time he spent at Camp REACH. He shared his happiness at having won a new bicycle for his reading accomplishments and stated “Oh, I definitely will attend next summer. It was fun, and I can’t wait to see what I might win next year!” Johnson also thanked the Kiwanis Club for supporting GlantonHindsman Elementary School. Johnson was one of 138 students who participated in the first Camp REACH, a free literacy and math camp offered by GlantonHindsman.

Kiwanis Club Meeting were principal Beth Chandler and teacher Julie Hursey who gave a presentation to the Kiwanis Club describing all camps offered by the school. GlantonHindsman Elementary Summer Camps offered in 2014 included iRobot…Do You?, Full STEAM Ahead!, Camp STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Camp for Early Learners, and Camp REACH, a free Math and Reading Camp for 1st5th grade GHE students held ten weeks over the summer.
Del Williams of The Fairfield Kiwanis Club presented Scott Johnson with a donation to GlantonHindsman Elementary School for the 201415 school year.
