Villa Rica High School Student Wins EMC Scholarship

(Carrollton, Ga. – December 15, 2014) Bowdon High School student DJ Blackwelder recently won the EMC Scholarship at the Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event held at the Amicalola Falls EMC in Jasper, GA. Blackwelder competed against other students from across North West Georgia to win the award. Participants in the FFA Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event demonstrate the proper use of electrical tools, present a speech/demonstration on an electrical energy-related topic, answer problem solving questions pertaining to electrical wiring and rural electrification and complete an assigned wiring problem based on The National Electrical Code. Blackwelder also earned the right to compete at the State Agricultural Electrification Career Development Event in Covington, GA on January 10, 2014.
