(Carrollton, Ga. – January 23, 2015) Carroll County School System and Bowdon High School welcome Robert Andrews as the school’s new head football coach. Andrews comes to Bowdon from North Gwinnett High School where he successfully built, led and executed the Defense for a State Championship contending team. Having coached both sides of the ball at the collegiate and high school levels for sixteen years, Andrews brings with him valuable experience and expertise.

In fourteen years as a high school coach, Andrews’ teams have advanced to the quarterfinals or further eight times and have won six region championships. Defenses led by Andrews have had more than 25 shutouts in the last six years and he was the defensive coordinator for the 2011 Grayson High School State Championship.

Coach Andrews stated, “I am so excited to join the Bowdon community and become a part of the Bowdon football family. Bowdon football is rich in tradition and success. It is an honor to have this opportunity to join this community and lead the Bowdon High School Football Program. I have been very impressed with the leadership at the school and the vision of the school system. There’s top-notch leadership throughout and that kind of support is integral to our success, both on the field and off. The community is a great place to establish roots and grow my family. I look forward to many years in Bowdon.”

Coach Andrews is a graduate of Mississippi College where he played four years of football and holds a Masters degree from the University of the Cumberlands and a Specialists degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University. Coach Andrews is married to Leslie Andrews and has two children, Jordan (8) and Jackson (7).
