(Carrollton, Ga. – January 30, 2015) Mt. Zion Middle School eighth grade student, Sarah Collins, and Mt. Zion High School sophomore student, Brianna McCubbin, have been selected to perform in the 2015 GMEA District 7 Honor Band. The Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) sponsors the District Honor Band annually to showcase the most talented students in each district and in the state of Georgia. Students are selected for participation by an extremely competitive audition process. They then participate in a 3 day honor band clinic which is conducted by nationally recognized music educators. This event culminates in an unforgettable concert. The District Honor Band Concert will be February 14 at Ringgold High School. Mr. Scott Jones is the band director at both Mt. Zion Middle and Mt. Zion High Schools.
