The story of two buildings. One, Douglas County’s first Charter academy off Brookmont Pkwy which filled to capacity and outgrew its facility in just a short time. The other, a church that built a new sanctuary off Timber Ridge Dr and Prestley Mill Rd, which after a few years relocated and the brand new facility sat vacant. After several site considerations, it was the church site that needed tenants that filled the need of the ever growing charter Academy. Over the Christmas break and into January through a herculean effort by Students, Teachers, parents and volunteers, Brighten Academy is now in their new home. The Academy took over the former New Life Christian Church location, and even added an additional building for all it’s students. The facility just recently celebrated its ribbon cutting and opening celebration. Welcome Brighten to their new home!
