An update from March, Murphy USA fuel center on Thornton Rd in front of Walmart is set to open this Friday May 1st per management at the Thornton Rd Walmart. This is on target from their original date set for May 2 from our report back in March. We looked on Sunday and the center is ready for business save a bit more training for associates. There are 15 pumps, 2 of which allow for diesel fuel similar to Kroger and Ingles fuel centers. But unlike their competitors this Murphy USA fuel center will have an indoor walk in convenience store for shoppers who wish to skip the lines inside Walmart. Murphy USA adds another value option for travelers and motorists along the busy Thornton Rd corridor. And on that note:
Project Update: Many may have missed the announcement so we will repeat it here. The adjacent corner to Blairs Bridge Rd next to Douglas County Dodge was supposed to be in store for a larger Racetrac store. That project was cancelled back in March. We’ll keep an eye out for any buyers to the property for the next project.
